Diabetics at Village Inn

Every single time I come to Boca/delray beach I must stop to eat dinner here at leastttttt 1x. I can proudly say when in Florida, my family and I are regulars and eat here prob 3x/week. Prices are reasonable. Great atmosphere. Love the option to sit inside and outside. Food suggestions: For starters: 1. The Lentil soup is the BEST lentil soup I've ever had!! Add a touch of parm cheese and it could be quite filling 2. Mozzarella and Tom. So great. Comes with a drizzle of pesto sauce, beyond fresh! 3. Mozz en Carosa (fried mozz triangles) comes with a side of marinara. Excellent. Ask for extra crispy! 4. Portobello Mushroom Salad is excellent. Portion is big. Entrees: Lobsters!!! Fresh with Capp. Pasta in a red sauce. Yum!! 2. Chicken parm is HUGE. And so delicious. Always a great choice. 3. Chicken Milanese 4. Chicken Carbone dish. It's their version of like a chicken pillard. As honest as I always am with my posts, I'll say it's not always the best. Sometimes a bit dry. Dessert: you really can't go wrong with their warm apple crisp dessert. Comes with vanilla ice cream and its huge! If you're not an apple dessert fan, their terrimisu is a great choice as well. Cannot go wrong! Hope this helps! Accommodates small and large parties. Excellent space!

Comatose bartender with the personality of a box of dirt. We would like to give the restaurant a higher rating because the ambiance is very good and the happy hour was excellent. Food-excellent Italian. The bar tender did not want to be involved or helpful and we were forced to work to get orders. She was either drugged or out of it. The restaurant is in Mizner and very nice.

We met friends who live in Boca Raton and chose this centrally located Italian restaurant on a quiet mid week night. This location is just one of many this chain offers it seudo Italian interpetations. The portion sizes were huge if that is an important consideration in choosing a restaurant, I'd rather smaller but memorable. Service was pleasant and atmosphere was very white but not offensive in any way. My pictures will tell the remaining storing!! When in Boca Raton and considering Italian go to Casa D' Angelo on East Palmetto Park Rd.

The food is very good. However the staff is questionable. I didn't like that when we were told to sit wherever we wanted outside, the waitress commented to the hostess that we better not be seated in her section because she didn't want to 'close'. Waitresses are on their phones in the bathroom checking themselves out in the mirror and give weird looks as if they are being disturbed by the patrons or chitchat together in a group (both me and my friends noticed this at different trips to the lady's room). There were other strange faux paus through out the meal. The staff overall did not seen happy to be serving which in the hospitality business is a no no. In Boca there are so many options. Not sure if I'll go back.

My husband and I were there last night and have been there many times before. It use to be a great place, but the last two times have been terrible! The waiters they have there are pushy aggressive and very unfriendly.. They treat you like they want you in and out.. Rude is the word! We asked for cream for the coffee and it took literally three times tasking to get it. The whole experience was awful...the food is good for the most part but the servers and the staff are terrible. That ruined everything. ...

This is a strange place - especially for lunch. It's dead empty at lunch and a fairly large restaurant. I like non-busy places, but this was weird even for me. Their menu is huge- and that was just their lunch menu! They have a lot of things, and it's kind of difficult to pick what you want out of a 6 page menu. I came with a large group - we ordered the fried mozzarella (they had a fancy Italian name for it) which was 2 triangles for 8 dollars - it seems pricey for what it was. I've had better. The calamari is good, although a little bland. Nothing special. I ordered a salad, which was good but not memorable. A strange, too sweet dressing was the compliment that I thankfully got on the side. Service was really good though - I will give them that. It's a solid 'a-okay' place - not somewhere I'd go back quickly, but if it were suggested to go here, I wouldn't be terribly against it.

Went for happy hour drinks and appetizers before a movie . Sergio was extremely accommodating . All the staff was very attentive . We ordered 4 appetizers . All were excellent. We will be coming back for dinner with friends in the future. Husband loved eggplant appetizer my favorite was the chicken parm.

A few days ago was the first time my husband and I had eaten at Villagio, (except for Tastemakers). We went for happy hour. The bar drinks are half price and they have a happy hour menu. I looked at the happy hour menu, everything was $3.95, but there wasn't that many items listed. I asked our server for suggestions. She said the servings on the happy hour menu are very small. She said we could get a half order of a pasta dish which might be more filling. We looked at the regular menu and decided to order drinks and the margherita pizza. Our drinks came right away. While we were waiting for the pizza we munched on slices of flat bread and chopped tomatoes, which were on the table. There was also a basket of Italian bread and a few chips. The flat bread and tomatoes were delicious and tasted a lot like bruschetta. When the pizza came out it looked so good. It was larger then I expected and was cut into eight slices. We enjoyed the pizza. The crust was perfectly cooked. It had a lot of cheese, which is just the way I like it. It was absolutely delicious. I liked that you had a choice of sitting at the bar or at a table in the bar room during happy hour. A lot of restaurants make you sit at the bar which can be very crowded. I was surprised that Villagio wasn't very crowded during happy hour. I think they would attract more customers if they expanded their happy hour menu to include more options and larger servings.

Lousy service We booked yesterday for a table for all the family. When we arrived no table was ready and they added our table which was a 15min wait. They are so focused on making money and not on the client they continually added tables and guess what service became worse and worse. 3 people never got their meal and we were told the kitchen was backed up. That said other tables were being served - the chef needs a lesson in managing the orders. I have been here before and would have recommended the restaurant now I will make a point to tell people to avoid it. There are many other places where service is not sacrificed to make an extra buck.

Ive only had happy hour at the bar only. One word: meh. They have a big sign outside 50% off drinks and apps starting at 3.95. We go to bar and the wine selection wasn't impressive. The app selection even more depressing. We got the grilled octopus. It was like the tentacles cut into little circles on a small plate. They also gave everyone bread with a side of marinated tomatoes. The octopus was tasteless and chewy. For 4 bucks you get what you pay for. There a lot better happy hrs in mizner. I'll be surprised if this place makes it a year.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed my dinner. There's zero ambience and the atmosphere resembles an open air bazaar with a noise level difficult to compete with. I've enjoyed browsing a farmers market or a country roadside fruit and vegetable stand more. The service staff is young, eager and willing to please, however Zach was more than accomodative. The first of two bottles of French wine was barely room temperature and resulted in a wait until it became slightly chilled. Forget valet parking on a busy evening.

Had lunch today with a dear friend from out of town before we went browsing at the Boca Museum of Art. By a nice older gentleman who seems to be one of the head associates of Villagio, we were seated outside because we wanted to enjoy the lovely weather we've been having. Our server was a very nice young gentleman and had no problem accommodating to our needs. As a free starter, we were served a warm basket of sliced bread and some dried bread with a bowl of bruchetta tomatoes. My friend had a lovely chicken entree which she thought was delicious and yet a very large portion that she had no problem taking home. I had the pan fried tilapia with potatoes and green beans. It had a nice creamy lemon sauce which I believe to be hollandaise. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal as it wasn't as large as my friend's so there was no need for me to take home any left overs. I would love to return for a light lunch sometime soon.

South Florida isn't known for its Italian food, and most restaurants in Boca leave me ice cold. I'm used to mediocre, over-priced, quasi-Italian meals in this town. But Villagio really surprised me with how delicious the food was! My family and I visited this restaurant at the end of a very thunder-stormy day, and despite the wetness, decided to dine al fresco. We ordered bruschetta, which didn't look particularly fancy when it arrived at the table, but was surprisingly flavorful in all the right ways! I started with mozzarella caprese, and again, found myself really enjoying how well they'd seasoned the tomatoes! But my main course was the show-stopper: This was, hands down, THE BEST veal parmigiana I've EVER had!!! The meat was tender, the breading crisp, and the top was a splendid combination of cheesy and tomato-y! The serving size was gigantic, and while it was hard to stop nibbling at something so tantalizingly delicious, I still wound up taking about half of it home! The service was great, the wine recommendations excellent, and the relaxing, quiet ambiance of sitting outside on a relatively quiet evening was just what we wanted. We were all able to have good conversation without having to shout over music or freeze to death from air conditioning! While we were all really full from dinner, we still couldn't resist ordering a piece of the flourless chocolate cake to share amongst the six of us! It was just what my mouth wanted, a creamy, dark chocolate-y bite or three of dense cake to finish the meal...perfecto! I will definitely go back here next time I'm in town. It's hard to find a non-cheesy restaurant in Boca, but Villagio definitely makes the grade!!

So I just finished dinner and all I can say is that our waiter was great! Beyond that the food was absolutely horrible. The Buffalo caprese was served on a lathe plate as if they just threw the tomatoes on top of it and could not care less how it looked. The tomatoes were soft and pasty and the mozzarella the same. My next dish was the tilapia. Served cold and also quite pasty, absolutely a non starter . Another waste of a clean plate. The bread however was great and with the crunchy crust, made for a perfect start and end to the meal. All that said, don't think we will make it back. Should have listened to the reviews.

Tried to be positive here but just could not find a good thing to say about the place. I was meeting a group of friends to celebrate a birthday Saturday night on 2/28 and was excited as I have eaten at their other location before. The place was busy but good thing we had a reservation at 8:00 p.m. for our group. What was disappointing that while we had the reservation we did not get seated until almost 8:30. When we were seated the waiter took our drink order then forgot about us. It took about 20 minutes until someone in the party got fed up and went up to a group of waiters by the rest room to ask, hey we ordered drinks 20 minutes ago and if possible can you please bring us menus! This type of service continued. One guy from the group did not want to deal with it and kept going to the bar to refill his captain and coke because he couldn't stand the waiting. The service really did not get any better. Dinner is now finally complete and when they came to sing happy birthday to our birthday girl we had to send them back because she went to the ladies room. Funny at first but clearly our waiter was not on his game. She came out and got to the table and said hey did i miss anything because i was washing my hands and heard happy birthday. Once again comical moment but took away from the evening. They came we sang and enjoyed desserts and after all of that the waiter said his manager is allowing him to give us the desserts on the house to make up for the whole experience. Now to the best part. I have never been so sick in my life. I ordered the fusili al teleforo. simple pasta, red sauce, basil, mozzarella, and add chicken. I know question if the chicken was fully cooked properly because being draped in red sauce i could not tell as I was eating. Not to be graphic went 7 times in 5 hours. I called the restaurant the next day to inform them I got sick from eating their food. I was fine before I went in and ate nothing after that. The Manager John told me he felt bad but there is nothing he can do as the credit card was already charged. The terrible thing was I had a flight the next day and 3 hours on a plane with explosive diarrhea is not pleasant for anyone, those around me included. John told me to come on by the restaurant when I get back and he would like to offer me another meal. Honestly, think i will be staying away from their terrible service and belly busting food.

Villagio strikes me as being a rather odd place located in the midst of Mizner Plaza right smack on Plaza Real with most everything upscale surrounding it but Villagio offering little but the mediocre in taste, quality and presentation both its foods and its cocktails. The attempt of it, I think is to be Italian, but the previously frozen calamari was rubbery and the sauce bland. The parmesan atop the carpaccio seemingly rather mundane and service eeeek! What Villagio strikes me as being is tourist venue aimed more at those who desire to be a part of the "Boca Scene" as opposed to a place for those seeking quality in their foods.

Obviously the reviews for this restaurant are all over the map. I've eaten here several times, once with a group, and more often with my husband. We always enjoy the food, good service and I particularly love the ambience and energy of the outdoor dining space. Good wines, and delicious food. My suggestion to those with mediocre reviews, speak up. They need to know why you were unhappy so they can improve. They seem to really aim to please.

Without reading the Yelp reviews we made a reservation for a party of 6 tonight. We were seated promptly, and quickly approached by our waiter to offer drinks and advise us of the specials. The food came in a very reasonable amount of time. The burrata salad was expensive but delicious. The caesar salad was excellent as was the veal parmigiana. Others had pasta, pizza, and veal piccata. The food came hot and everyone enjoyed their meals. Throughout the meal the service was attentive and professional. The restaurant is very large and was mostly full outside but there were a number of tables available inside. The noise level outside was acceptable but I can't comment on what it would be inside when the restaurant is full. On arriving home we were very surprised to read some of the recent negative reviews. It was certainly not our experience tonight, and we will definitely return.

Enjoyed an al fresco lunch at this restaurant in Mizner Park. We all had pastas which were very well done. I had the porcini mushroom ravioli which was in a saffron cream sauce - very tasty. My daughter had the agnolotti in a pink sauce - also very good. Service was very slow for a half empty restaurant and the prices were very reasonable.

Lunch here. Terrible service. My margarita took so long to arrive I had to ask for it again. Then it came without salt on the rim. Again I had to ask for it a second time. Then it was awful. Off tasting mix. First time I ever sent a cocktail back. Only reason for 2 stars is the food was good. I had the Amalfi salad and my friend had the chicken Marsala. I would not want to eat here again.

A deserving 3 stars for Villagio. What they lack in quality they make for in service and a delicious apple pie option for dessert. Plus the bartender was a really nice guy....except for the stingy pours in the slightly over priced wine. I only visiyed once and didn't have dinner so not sure this rating has too much value. Also, sat at the bar. The place was packed on a Friday night, with mostly families and older couples.

This is the second time I've eaten at Villagio. I had the special which was a fish called Branzino. It was excellent, extremely fresh and not fishy at all, even the green beans were good. The service was very good as well. I don't know why this place has such mixed reviews?

  • Arianna N Shaffer S.

I like Villagio, its pretty standard to me though. I have always had great service when I come here and the ambiance is always nice and its nicely decorated. Its a great place to come and sit and eat outside with your dog. I am obsessed with the tomatoes they bring to your table, I don't know what it is about them but I could eat a whole entire bowl on its own. I think their salads are good and pretty standard. I like the seafood salad that they have, it makes for a great appetizer. I always always get this zucchini and broccoli soup - it comes with angel hair pasta but I always ask to have it without the pasta and its never a problem. It's probably my favorite soup ever, its very delicious!

Went there last night prior to Mizner concert & now I know why the place was 1/2 empty/service was worse than McDonalds. Could not believe an upscale Italian restaurant did not use fresh grated parmesan cheese & the waiter had no idea what he was doing. Give this 1 star since the penne harry's with chicken or shrimp was good but not exceptional. There are plenty of good Italian places in Boca so don't waste your time here.

The food was very good the service seemed a little rushed and the air conditioning was terrrible we left after eating because it was uncomfortably hot ( we were sweating inside the place).

Dependable Italian food. I would recommend to sit outside. The fish is always very good and you can ask for it blackened. Great people watching too!

We decided to come here to celebrate Father's Day! The worst decision ever! The waiter gave us no attention, he passed by us about five times and ignored us! We tried to get his attention by waiving but he kept avoiding us! The time that he came to get our order, was the worst part, he did not even looked at our face, he grabbed the menu from our hands so hard I am in shock with his attitude! Coming back here? NO WAY

Had lunch and they were crazy busy because of Mother's Day. Food is always great but today, my fiancé and I got the shaft when it came to service. It also took 3 tries to bring me a cold soda.

  • Rick S.

The 2 stars are for location and great outdoor seating. I can't believe all of the 4 and 5 stars. Where were you eating? What a disaster. How do you screw up a vodka up with olives? How do you screw up a dirty vodka martini? To begin with, take 15 minutes to come take a drink order, spill about 1/4 out of the glasses as you bring it to the table, forget the olives and serve it WARM. Want to ruin a great piece of fish? Order a fish specialty, have it served smothered in nothing special marinara sauce which kills any ability to appreciate the fish and then have the waiter disappear for 30 minutes. With all that Mizner has to offer and all the great restaurants in the Boca area, I guess this place survives on tourists and that it has great outdoor seating. Don't waste your time

We had the pizza marguerite as an appetizer, which was doughy but good and it was big. Others had the burrata and the calamari and both were good as well. I had the veal parmigiana and it was excellent, great flavor. I finished with the chocolate soufflé which was equally excellent. 4 out of 5 stars due to a rude host who kept insisting we asked for an outdoor table when we didn't. But our waitress, Amber, was outstanding and I would request to sit in her section if I were you.

  • Yana A.

I don't even know why I give 2 stars, because it's really deserves 1. Waiter was sweet but forgot to take of half price drinks. And octopus appetizers that was really bad. It was actually the worst octopus I ever ate. Eggplants rolatini looked like they were warmed up in microwave. Portfino salad had marinated mushroom soaked in vinegar. Calamari were not bad. And all these multiple servers that were just standing there chatting with restaurant 75% empty on Sunday night. Overall, it's a very nice location with awfull food.

I don't understand these poor reviews. I have been to this restaurant numerous times for lunch and dinner and I have always been happy with their food, ambiance, attentive and friendly wait staff! I have taken lots of guests here and they always request to go back! I only hope we can get back there again before we leave for the season!

OK -- here we go. Get ready. I am about to open a can of whup ass on all of the asshats who gave this place a bad review. Not just because I've eaten here several times and had a good meal each time, but because you morons have no fucking clue what you're talking about when you make comments like "it's a tourist trap", or "people just come here for the scene". Almost every cool S. FL place has a "scene" on a Friday or Saturday night. After all, its S. Florida -- the land of big money, beautiful and fit women (and men) wearing a minimal amount of clothing, who in general strut their stuff on a typical hot weekend evening. And how to I know this is not a tourist trap? Well, that would be because I lived down here for a few years, and I used to go here with other locals, and meet other locals here as well. And the locals know the restaurants in Boca, W Palm, Delray Beach and the other beach towns in the area... and they have their choice as to where to go on a Saturday night.. and dontcha know, a bunch of them go to Villagio -- and even come back. Certainly there are tourists here -- like there are at every other S FL restaurant during the winter tourist season, but this joint is no different than 20 other places I've been.... It's S. Florida. It's hot, it's cool, and after you've gotten a bit of a workout, caught some rays at the beach, and you're feeling good, there is nothing better than getting dressed up, putting on that white or cream colored shirt to show off your tan, and heading out to a pretty damn good restaurant like Villagio to enjoy a pleasant evening of food and drink with some friends... ohh S. Florida... how I miss you. :)

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good place to eat at mizner park and villagio was suggested to us by my relatives. We ate outside which was really beautiful and from the second we walked in the staff was attentive and very friendly. I had fettuccine Alfredo which, in my opinion, is a hard dish to perfect but I had zero complaints! My boyfriend had the chicken parmigiana which I tried and also loved. It came with potatoes and string beans but I believe the vegetable depends on the day. They give a variety of bread at the beginning of the meal all of which was delicious.Throughout our meal the waiter came over just enough times (not too many to be annoying and not enough to leave us agitated). Overall, we had a great time and the food was well prepared and tasty. Highly suggest if you're in the area.

We came here sunday for lunch sat down and within 10 minutes the guy next to us was smoking a cigar ughhhhhhhhhhhh. Our food didn't come yet so we opted to move to another table. I ordered a soup that took 15 minutes weird I didn't know they made soup to order. Finally after 40 minutes we asked where our salads were, No joke the waitress looked at us like how dare we ask where our food is. She said it is coming so we politely said it has been a while we ordered salads. My salad was awful I picked out the seafood and the lettuce was not good drenched in dressing. I eaten at the one in Sawgrass, and in Merrick and they are much better.

I've experienced both lunch and dinner with a group and it was very good. Service is ok. The pizzas are solid and can easily easily be shared as an appetizer or lunch. The chicken milanese was also very good. Have had various pasta dishes which always hit the spot. For the price and location, highly recommend stopping by for outdoor seating.

Really good food at a reasonable price. Nice fresh broccoli and zucchini soup. Main Meals were excellent. Service was attentive especially since we asked to move to another table as it was getting too hot at out table that was in the sun. They could be more accommodating. I will definitely be back.

We had fantastic service and great food. The outdoor seating makes this a great place to watch the action on the street without compromising quality. I recommend the veal.

Everything was delicious - from the warm bread and tasty bruschetta as we sat down to the lobster ravioli for my main course - yummy!!! :-) My wife, father-in-law and son came for lunch last Sunday and loved it so much that my wife and I had a date night here. We highly recommend it. Father-in-law loved the egg plant parmigiana and my wife enjoyed the fettuccine with peas and mushrooms!!

Service was horrible. Waiter was rude from the get go. Rushing our wine order. Appetizers were good. Entrée came way to fast-weren't even finished with appetizer and waiter was placing entrée on the table. Then he was rude again. One of our diners did not like part of their meal and the waiter explained that that was how it was supposed to be prepared and did not even offer to get something else! Waiter very inattentive for over 30 minutes. Refused to get manager when requested. Rude to another diner at our table. Manager finally came over apologetically. Waiter even messed up presentation of bill.

Great restaurant for a simple casual pizza night or going all out for a full on Italian dinner. Perfect location in Mizner Park. Cute date night place especially in nice weather to sit outside. The food is good. Service is good. The fried calamari is perfect, so crispy just how I love it. The pizza is good. I'm only not giving it 5 stars because it's not the best most amazing restaurant I've ever and been to but it is really good.. Was here this past Friday- only problem was they were out of the bottle of wine we ordered plus 3 more choices after the first were also out of. Unacceptable I think especially on a weekend.

I am baffled how people accept mediocrity these days. You would think Villagio would be a great place. It looks the part. It's in sexy Minzer Park and by default the only Italian restaurant there. It's right in the heart of the busiest section in Minzer with all the fake woman who have more plastic in them than Dupont. All the Bosley Medical Hair Restoration patients and their leased Bentleys. It has everything that would give you the impression this is a treat. What it is is a tourist trap. It's a scene for people to force feed themselves pedestrian pasta with a smile. The sauces are bland. They offer up previously frozen and tasteless calamari, old lettuce in the salad and those are just the highlights. The service on most nights is questionable too. There is nothing great on this menu and having been there a few times I've come to realize the only reason people do go here is because of its scene. There is nothing authentic about Villagios and get this, they don't even offer up cannolis at this Italian restaurant. I was told by the waiter to order their apple pie instead. Apple pie? In an Italian restaurant? GTFOH. Nicky Santoro would have put that waiters head in a vice grip with that ridiculous and unacceptable answer. But later I realized it all made sense. This place isn't an Italian restaurant it's a restaurant attempting to be an Italian restaurant with tasteless pricey food and a good atmosphere, You want to believe you're eating real Italian food among Boca's elite? Well this tourist trap is just for you. You want a real Italian meal go to Il Gabbiano's in Miami. You need to stay in local, well there are a bunch of options, just check out my reviews.

My friends and I went to Villagio this weekend to celebrate a birthday and if the camaraderie wasn't there the evening would have been a total bust. Our waiter was inattentive and very slow to return to our table. He literally ran away from us twice before a girl could get her drink order placed. Even when the majority of the outdoor tables had gone we could still nto get our waiter to help us. I ordered a bottle of Reisling (Washington State) and it was $28.00 which is quite reasonable. I also ordered a side salad and it was on an entire plate and fed four people as an appetizer. The salad had great flavor and it was literally covered in mushrooms from one end of the plate to the other. For an entree my friend and I shared a chicken dish with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, and a potato and green bean side. The food was ok and the portion was very large. Even with both of us eating there was an entire portion to take home. Total price for my friend and I was $68.00. As far as desserts go I only sampled one bite of the Ricotta Cheesecake. Never having had it before I cannot judge anything other than flavor which was quite lemon(y). The prices are very good and the food is A-Ok (three stars). The service is a Eak! I think not (one star). Find a better place.

I decided to write an update since I went back and this time it was a very positive experience. The food was delicious and the prices are very fair and everybody was nice. I think last time must have just been a bad day.....I do like this place now and I would recommend it. The chocolate cake is especially delicious and the location is beautiful.

This and its sister restaurant up at City Place in West Palm Beach serve up earnestly made Italian fare. It's not art, but it's not the over-cooked slop of your third-rate pizza joint either. The service was very good, and their location in Mizner is a great place to sit on the patio and take a meal. Moderate for lunch, spendy for dinner, and spendy if you buy wine. There are a couple of other good options for dining in Mizner Park, but if you're feeling like Italian this is certainly a restaurant that makes a respectable meal worthy of a little Chianti and some good conversation.

Wish I could give it a 2.5 star review. Unquestionably basic Italian restaurant. It is exactly like the type of experience you would have at a Italian restaurant in a highly traffic area on Miami Beach. Food is so-so, service is okay but they hustle to get you in and out of there as fast as possible. It's very crowded outside and really doesn't make for an enjoyable dining experience because of how they nudge you to get out so they can seat their next party. Example: as soon as we asked for the check they started to not only clear our plates but clear off the entire table to turn it over for the next party. Maybe I feel better about it if our food was amazing, but it was just okay.

Prompt seating at 7:30 which was a pleasant surprise for this environment. The place is very popular with all adjacent restaurants filled with patrons. The food was simply spectacular with generous portions. I had mozzarella tomato as an appetizer followed by one of the specials of the day which was linguine with lobster and other fresh seafood prepared in white wine sauce. Too much food led to too much enjoyment, wife had carpaccio and son had breaded chicken and steamed broccoli, all turned out to be great. The only suggestion is to improve speed of service, otherwise keep it as is and you shall be around for long. Berringer merlot and cosmo martinis were a pleasure as well.

The first time was in the evening for dinner and the food was terrible , the fish was dry the calamari was rubbery and bland. The service was slow and unprofessional considering we were a party of 8 I expected that they would at least give us more attention. Second time was for lunch and mostly for convenience since I have kids .I figured it was the only Italian restaurant in Mizner that served pizza and how hard could pizza be . Oh Well, I was very wrong , the pizza was mediocre and just that, over cheesy, crust was stale and chewy, definitely not Margarita style as the waiter described. Also service is terrible , our waiter placed the pizza on our table and did not bring us plates? When I asked for plates he reached over to the next table and grabbed the bread plates . At that point I decided I would never come to this restaurant again and I would never recommend to anyone that is looking for a true Italian meal with real service. It is such a shame how there are many restaurants in this area that lack food quality and service. Mostly what they concentrate on is ambiance, as long as they look like a restaurant they don't care about anything else.

I have eaten twice before over the years at this Boca Villagio location, this time even ordering the same 'lobster over linguine with seafood' dish that I recently had the Villagio in Sawgrass. It was decent, but not great. We had a party of 8 and large parties can be a challenge, I get that. But three of us ordered this lobster dish, and mine was the smallest.....and very little mussels, clams, etc where in my dish. Perhaps theirs just had more pasta, but I was disappointed in the size of mine especially compared to my other experience at Villagio. We had a nice time, and I will probably try it again, and if not good that time I probably would not go again.

This was our second experience at Villagio and it didn't disappoint. The food is consistently good, and the Pesto sauce is consistently incredible. I would even venture saying that their Pesto can rival anywhere in Little Italy in NYC. They have a decent wine list but the price point of the bottles are perfect. I'll make sure to avoid this place on a weekend, but next time I'm in the area I'll be coming back.

I like Villagio, I have been here a few times for birthday parties and even for lunch on occasion. The food is solid, I am a big fan of Italian food and while I would say it's good, it's not great. But for the value and overall ambiance and service, Villagio is well worth the money. I give it four stars since there are no half stars, otherwise I would say 3 1/2 stars.

Amazing service, amazing food, great scenery. I have been here a few times & it has always been consistent. Located in the heart of Mizner Park, local shopping and movie theater that you can walk to. There are about 5 people that wait on your table so you don't have to wait for anything. Prices are very reasonable with large portion sizes.

Villagio is in a really good location in Mizner Plaza. It's a gorgeous place to walk around and enjoy the weather. However, besides the fantastic atmosphere, the service was great. We were constantly being taken care of, even though they were very busy. Unfortunately, the food was good, not great, and overpriced. The best part of my meal there was the Ricotta Cheesecake, other than that the food was average.

worst service ever! We just finished just now, my wife ordered a Greek salad and a soup and I ordered a Greek salad. The waiter forgot to bring the soup and bread and the manager came over and we told him. We still didn't get our order. (I think it's because our order was low, so they ignored us although manager tells us that's not the case) then when they finally brought the soup it was terrible. The only good service we had was from the bus boy. And the manager did the correct thing and waived the bill.

Villagio is very consistent in what they do and can hold its own as an Italian restaurant. Same thing as Bella Luna and Rosalia.... Literally the menus are the same letter font. Thats because they're all owned by the same guy. But the service is quick and it has great outdoor seating. The men's bathroom scared me a bit as it looks like its in mid-renovation. I hope they get it done soon. Big place and nice decor. Not too expensive either. I would recommend it.

When my family and I first discovered this restaurant a year or so ago we were excited. Finally a reasonably priced Italian restaurant in a fun area where we can walk around! My initial thoughts on the food was that it was eh, not too bad... But I did have an issue with some of the waiters - they can be jerks at times. They seem annoyed when you take a while to order and are not the most approachable individuals. Despite the hot and cold service, we've been back countless times to this place, but the food is still just mediocre. I had shrimp scampi a few nights ago and it was unbearable to eat, the sauce was terrible-which I thought was strange since its such a basic Italian dish. I ate at their neighboring restaurant Max's Grille a few days after and ordered shrimp scampi there - and to my surprise their dish was a million times better than Villagio! (and max's isn't even an Italian restaurant!) Anyways, point is - the majority of the food here is tolerable. My parents like the place... so there has to be some reason why they keep coming back. The appetizers are good....but Villagio needs to make some improvements and definitely start putting more effort into their dishes....or else people are going to start catching on that the stellar ambiance is not worth the average food.

This is one of the few restaurants in Mizner Park that is reasonably priced & serves good food. I went there for lunch & the manager offered us complimentary mimosas since it was our first time which was quite a treat! They also started us off with complimentary bruschetta type flat bread with tomatoes & onions drizzled with an olive oil, balsamic & basil mixture. Absolutely delish! My boyfriend & I ordered fish - snapper & swordfish - both of which were tasty & only cost $12.75. Overall I was very impressed. The servers were attentive & the management welcoming & cordial. Good prices, fast service, quality food & an awesome location! Can't ask for much more for a lunch eating spot!

absolutely wonderful. my mom has a severe fish allergy and the waitstaff and manager were more than accomodating. my mom has never felt so comfortable. a chic place to be seen. ask to sit with paul, the waiter... service better than an upscale manhattan scene. lasagna was out of this world. service impeccable.

Last night I had the Linguine with mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. It was terrible. The blackened mushrooms (due to age not over cooking) were dumped on top of a small amount of overcooked soggy pasta. Its my second and last time to this restaurant for lunch or dinner. Lousy food.

I have been here several times, I'm a local, not a tourist. The food is always good! Great spot for eating in a nice restaurant after shopping all day. Not a mass marketed chain like Grand Lux or PF Chang. Good food, good wine and drinks. They also have a sister restaurant, same owner not same name, at Aventura Mall. Same menu, though. I love it here. The wait staff is sometimes iffy, but the food is good.

I dined at Villagio last night with my fiancé, and we were less than pleased with our experience. First, we decided to sit outside, which is a terrible idea if you would like a romantic meal. It is not the fault of the restaurant though; the fault lies with the new club that is behind the restaurant that plays terrible music while the dj screams over the microphone. Next, our waiter was rude. It was about 9:30 when we sat down, and they are open until 11:00; you would think this would give us plenty of time to have a meal at a leisurely pace. But, after we placed our appetizer order we chatted for a few minutes and didn't look over the menu, when he returned to take our order we asked for more time and he rolled his eyes and glanced at his watch like we were holding him up for leaving for the night. He also said they didn't have one appetizer and when we ordered another that had the same ingredients we were allowed to order this appetizer, this was also $5.00 more. When he came to take the check, he didn't even say "thank you." Now, for the food. The carpaccio was great, but our main courses didn't deliver. My fiancé had the linguine and clams and it was drowning in butter. My dish, the veal marsala, was just ok. The other reviews say this place is reasonably priced, but it is the same prices as the other restaurants at the park. I'd save yourself and try one of those.

We were a table of 10 last night and when we called them at 5pm, we were told that they were not taking anymore reservations and to just come and they would seat us, first come, first serve. Our colleagues arrived and placed our name on a list and we were seated very promptly at a very nice table on the outside patio. The place was packed last night and we experienced excellent service from our two servers - bus gal and waitress! The mussels appetizer was scrumptious and was served in a tasty tomato sauce with lots of slivers of toasted garlic. We enjoyed the complimentary fresh bread and bruchetta with fresh chopped tomatoes. The specials last night were the Osso Bucco and the 1 1/2 pound lobster served over linguini, with shrimp and mussels. Both were delicious! The portions were very large and I think everyone enjoyed their meal! This was my 3rd visit here and this remains one of my favorite Italian places in Boca!

i happened to be in boca during the world cup 2010, and stopped by villagio for lunch. the beef carpaccio with arugula was wonderful, and the chocolate souffle plus the "extra" italian liquer was fantastic. even though i was here mid afternoon after the official lunch hour, the service was very attentive. definitely one of my favorite places in boca!

went here last night w. my family and friends. the food was basically 3 stars - A OK. the free little bread slices w. bruschetta type tomatoes was delicious, the calamari was flavorless, minus the marinara sauce. the mussels were gigantic and delicious in a white wine and garlic sauce. my entree was one of the specials that our waiter told us( he was pretty funny and attentive for the most part) lobster clams mussels in a diablo sauce and angel hair pasta. pretty decent the lobster was a bit overcooked. i wouldn't say I was screamin that the dish was amazing but it was pretty good. but for $24 for a full lobster and lots of seafood, pretty good deal. the prices are very reseasonable, especially for the location in Mizner Park. However the service needs some work, sometimes our water glasses were empty and we had to ask a couple times to have them refilled. we had to pour our own wine at times as well. Tiramisu was bland, tasted like nothing really. not impressed. this place will prob make it on the prices alone and location for the snow birds/geriatrics. not impressed. dont know if i'll be back again...

First review down in So Fla. and wasnt' going to start reviewing down here but have reached my limit with just poor executed food. Calamari starter for me no salt which is so easy and nice piece of plastic which we all know unacceptable. Caesar salads for my other diners sour lettuce aka old. Agnolotti as my main presentation, at least put them all facing up and if those were homemade they should use that recipe for mass production cause that is what it tasted like pretty sure they weren't and if they were bad technique my Italian side of the family would laugh. Service one of the hostesses literally stood by the entrance talking to her two friends for 25 minutes manager walked by never said a word even after we found plastic in calamari and saw most of plates were untouched. Our server nice young kid felt bad because you could tell they never train them well enough so they are comfortable with menu. It's a shame and sorry for beating up this place but maybe if someone speaks the truth who has devoted their life to food and isn't just throwing out useless information they will take a step back and listen cause its not hard to make simple fixes if one is willing to take another look at themselves.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
